FanDuel, a leading American gambling company known for its extensive range of casino products, has teamed up with the NBA League to introduce a new game to its fantasy sports app, FanDuel Faceoff. The game, called NBA Swish Showdown, is designed to take the NBA-inspired iGaming experience to the next level.
Inspired by the 3-Point Contest held annually at the NBA All Star Game, the NBA Swish Showdown game challenges players to make as many virtual basketball shots as possible within a given timeframe. Unlike real basketball players who have to work up a sweat to make their shots, this game allows players to compete from the comfort of their own homes, using their thumbs to aim for glory and a chance to win cash prizes.
FanDuel Faceoff has a history of hosting player competitions, and the NBA Swish Showdown continues this tradition by allowing players to challenge one another for various amounts of money. The player who makes the most successful shots within the allotted time will take home the majority of the prize money, with the app taking a commission. These challenges can be initiated among friends or randomly matched against players of similar skill levels.
In addition to the NBA Swish Showdown, FanDuel Faceoff offers players the opportunity to participate in the Daily Shot, where they can win a share of the daily cash prize. This week, players engaged in the NBA Swish Showdown will also be entered into a pool to win a $250 gift card to the NBA Store.
The launch of the NBA Swish Showdown marks an expansion of FanDuel’s partnership with the NBA, which has previously included game developments with former NBA player Rob Gronkowski and other Faceoff products. However, it is important to note that FanDuel Faceoff is considered an unregulated product in certain states, such as Arizona and Michigan, where the status of daily fantasy sports is being questioned. Despite this, FanDuel offers the product in 32 states and Washington DC, and the operator is committed to implementing responsible gaming practices and controls for its Faceoff product, aligning with the standards of its regulated products.
