The Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in South Korea is getting ready to open its casino after a long and challenging journey. The five-star hotel rating has finally been granted to the property, allowing it to move forward with its plans to open the foreigner-only casino.
The resort had to go through a rigorous assessment and meet the requirements of the Korea Tourism Association in order to receive the highly sought-after five-star rating. This assessment aligned with the Korean Hotel Rating System and involved evaluating the quality of the facility, hygiene, and service standards to ensure that they met the highest level of excellence.
The rating is significant as it marks the highest level that hotels in Korea can achieve and is a positive development for the resort as it paves the way for the opening of the casino and the commencement of its operations. While the majority of amenities at the resort were opened to the public on November 30, 2023, the casino operations were kept on hold.
The luxury resort boasts three hotel towers, MICE facilities, a wide selection of upscale restaurants, an entertainment street with various amenities, and an indoor water park. Most of the restaurants are already operational, with plans to open more in the near future. The first phase of development at INSPIRE is set to be completed by the middle of 2024, unveiling additional amenities such as an outdoor experiential space, a food court offering international cuisine, a content exhibition hall, and an indoor playground for kids.
While the exact opening date of the casino is still unknown, there is hope that it will be up and running just in time for the Chinese New Year celebrations in February. Chen Si, the President of Mohegan INSPIRE, expressed his delight in achieving the five-star rating and commended the team for their hard work across all areas of the facility, hospitality, and operations management.
Similarly, Ray Pineault, the CEO of Mohegan, emphasized the relentless pursuit of excellence and the commitment to providing world-class experiences. He sees the five-star rating as a testament to the team’s dedication to upholding the highest standards in the industry, solidifying their position as a leader in global entertainment and hospitality.
