PENN Entertainment Inc., a leading global sports entertainment company, has announced that it will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for its second hotel tower at M Resort. The $206 million project will commence at 2 PM PST on December 12th.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including the entire Henderson City Council, M Resort and PENN executives, Mayor Michelle Romero of Henderson, and Commissioner Michael Naft from Clark County. They turned over the symbolic “shovelful of dirt from a trough” at the site of the new building.
The addition of the second hotel tower, which will consist of 384 rooms, will expand the resort’s capacity to 774 rooms. It will also include updated amenities and extra meeting space. The tower will be located southeast of and connected to the existing tower, with both structures being linked below the ground to enable continuity of fresh convention establishments.
Hussain Mahrous, Vice President and General Manager of M Resort, expressed excitement about the construction, mentioning that it is expected to be completed within 18 months. He also highlighted that the resort will remain open during construction, with minimal disruption to existing public spaces.
The entire project is part of the company’s $850 million extension project, which also includes PENN facilities in Ohio, Illinois, and Nevada. Additionally, M Resort has taken advantage of Henderson’s sporting opportunities, positioning itself as the “Official Team Headquarters Hotel of the Las Vegas Raiders” and forming alliances with local sports teams.
The resort’s proximity to the Raiders’ headquarters and its partnerships with local sports organizations make it an attractive destination for sports fans and visitors. The groundbreaking ceremony signifies the continued growth and development of the M Resort, with potential for additional local alliances in the future.
